LS Tractors

Got a ls dealer 5 miles from me in Thompson. Been in business for year s . I don’t have and ls but I do trade with this dealer . Can’t Stay in business today without good product and services . My nephew bought an industrial ls backhoe for his construction business .
Dennis,
you're not too far from our farmstead west of Rock Creek

our farm neighbor has bought one from Robison about a year ago with loader and backhoe. He likes it but hasn't used it much. wouldn't/couldn't pull my 444 out of the mud. I blame the construction type tires and the low backhoe frame clearances.

Looked like a decent tractor but it was still new.

He DID have an issue with a pin hole leak in one of the hydraulic fittings that was welded to the the main backhoe cylinder and Robison fixed it under warranty

I wasn't giving my opinion :) , I was channeling old internet tractor forum member, made in Merica' has not meant much for a longtime.

A lot of these S Korean tractors have been proving their worth for decades all over the world. See them everywhere when I work in the EU.

As an EDIT, the people I work with in Japan that have farmers in the family seem to prefer Yanmar over Kabota. I chalk that up to being the same as Ford v Chevy, IH v JD BS.
I've never heard anything bad about Yanmar, especially their engines. I think the future will probably show that these S.Korean tractors were a bargain, as they enter the US market. For instance, a 55hp. TYM, with cab, loader, 4wd, is about $25k less than a comparable JD or Kubota. There are a lot of TYM sponsors on YT showcasing the line of tractors......time will tell.

The JD factory in Augusta, Ga. is still making tractors. I have a '98 5210 bought new, made in Ga......just used it to put out a bale of hay. Several S. Korean tractors are on the market, TYM bought out Branson and somehow Bad Boy is in there somewhere, all S.Korean.
I bought a new 6530 Branson with cab and loader in 2007. Been a great tractor with its mechanical Cummins 4 cylinder diesel. I liked the creature comforts that it offered over popular brands that I shopped that year looking for a new tractor. Only problem I had with it was my height being 6'5, I would bump my head on the condenser shroud over and in front of the operator's seat too frequently to suit me. Apparently oriental folks aren't all that tall.

In 2016 I bought a new Branson 2400 with loader and the mechanical shift. I bought it to do little jobs around the farm for which it was built. After 4 years of putting up with the tranny driven PTO....my moronistic idea of being an "old school" guy, I went to the Branson dealer to trade it in on another with the Hydro. They didn't take trades but gave me the number of a dealer that did. Found out that this dealer was an LS dealer. He sold me the 25 HP LS hydro and took the Branson and a nice Ford 2000 diesel in trade.....happy days.

I myself can't wrap my mind around buying tractor with foreign engines in them. Nobody around here seems to have very good results with some of them. I'll keep my easy to work on models.
My Branson 6530 is licensed by Cummins to build that engine and at the time Komatsu in Japan had the license and built the engine. Later Branson also obtained the Cummins license and as I understand it, all subsequent Cummins engines were built by them in S. Korea. My 2016 3 cyl. was a Branson built mechanical Cummins. My LS uses the Yanmar diesel which is a compact tractor pioneer and is in lots of different tractors, including some JDs. I have the utmost admiration for the oriental work ethic. Have no problem buying what they build......as spoken by an 83 year old "Red Neck" natural bornTexan. Over the years they have proven themselves to me.....it didn't come free.

TxJim, Is Massy Fergson in there some place too? Didn't LS obtain Long Landtrac? I have one and they use mitsubishi engine and transmission, but I think they are different from Yanmar and isn't TYM in there too? TYM looks like the Massy compacts. Are they all the same and just marketed under different names? I thought Mahindra was different and all made in India. Aren't some JD's made in India and look just like a green Mahindra?

I am more confused than ever.

I will be buying something new for the "hobby farm", especially with the free money dealers are offering.

Have a "friend" of the family that has taken on Solis as a brand, may go that route, but right now I am leaning towards a Yanmar SA425.

Sorry I don't know answer to your question concerning LS tractors. Yes some models of JD utility 5XXX models are manufactured in India.

I have a NH that is made by them. Nice little no frills tractor for me. Only had it a year or two.

Massey has purchased their compact tractors from Iseki in Japan for a long time.

I have a LS 33 hp hst that I bought new in 2012, to go with a JD 950.
Both are used extensively from February to October in a commercial vineyard.
The LS is usually the tractor of choice for the field crew, as it’s more comfortable to operate than the older JD.

I am consistent with regular maintenance with all my equipment, as new tractors and implements can take a big bite out of the end of year profits. The LS has never been back to the dealer for any issues, it has about 2000 hours on it so far, been a good tractor.

i paid $13,400 for it in 2012, wish now I would have bought two at that price

LS also has a relationship with Mitsubishi for major components.

When I bought my Deere 2038r a few years ago, my decision was down to the Deere and an LS tractor. LS makes a good product, and it was less expensive than the Deere. You could certainly get more bang for your buck with the LS. But...the LS dealer had a questionable reputation for service, and LS did not offer any financing the way Deere does. Coupled with the fact that the Deere dealer was a half hour closer, I went with the Deere. But the LS was certainly worth consideration in my opinion.
Well in 2007 when I wanted a new fully decked out tractor with cab and loader I visited all the popular colors. JD had a big presence here and had a lot full of new stuff from tiny to huge. So I walk around back and look at the lot of "waiting to be repaired" stuff and it was full. I go in the service shop and it was full.......Hmmmmm if I had a problem when would I get it looked at and how long would it take.

I gave up that spring and in the fall I was driving down the Interstate between McKinney and Sherman and saw this row of nice new shiny red tractors. Turned around and would up buying my Branson 6530 with cab and loader and gadgets making my usage easier that the popular colors didn't have. Service ship was empty!!!!! I didn't need it (the service shop) anyway, still have it, still runs like new, keep it in a shed so it still looks like new....have never had a reason to send it to the shop.............. Well my great great great grand daddy drove a Ford and by God I will drive one too........................On Fords, I don't like them. Just problems for me. My 2011 Silverado has never been in the shop other than to get the annual smog inspection which it easily passes.

buickanddeere, Your attachment mentions Long Agri Business Landtrac. The attachment is not complete, does it indicate that LS can get parts for Landtrac engines and transmissions? Can you PM me the complete attachments?

48 posts on a tractor & farm talk forum and nobody yet that actually owns an LS tractor? That's kinda bizaare in it's own right. That's not to say LS tractors aren't any good....but they for sure don't seem very popular. Just sayin'
You aren't paying attention.

You are wrong on your price comparisons maybe 5% less if you compare tractor for tractor lot depends on the dealer
