M&W hand clutch for Farmall M

Hello-

Local guy has a Farmall M with a M&W hand clutch. I have other Farmall tractors, but not an M, so the clutch won't work on anything I have. The tractor will be scrapped at some point in near future The clutch unit looks complete, working condition unknown. Are these worth saving, and how hard is it to remove from the tractor? What is value of the clutch assembly?

I can ask him what he wants for it. Located in Central WI. Cash only and buyer would have to remove from the tractor.

Not hard to remove. Not worth much to anyone but a collector these days.Might get a couple hundred if complete and everything in good shape.Parts are hard to find. I have 1 for a SuperM,plus most of one for an M. Would love to sell them. But sadly they will most likely end up as scrap.

I sold a complete M&W clutch setup for an M just yesterday for $300. I have sold several M&W clutches for H, super H, M & super M over the last 12-15 years for $300-500 each

Biggest job is to remove the bull pinion gear. If going to scrape you could break differential carrier the pinion is in so bull gear wouldn't need moved. Don't forget brake return spring parts on right side on cover and brake pedal. Some special bolts on left side.

Kirk, have you ever had the clutches refaced on those and if so, what kind of shop did it? thanks, gtm
it is not as simple as that, unfortunately. The clutch is multidisc and uses alternating fiber & steel discs. The 3 fiber discs have teeth cut in the outer diameter that mesh with mating teeth cut in the outer rim of the drum. Last I knew there was one or two places that had new fiber discs made, but they were over $100 each

Thanks for the replies and info! Wish I had an M to put it on. If anyone is interested, I think the guy said he wanted $250 for it, but buyer had to remove from tractor. I can provide contact info if anyone is interested in it. Terms would be cash only, buyer removes clutch, no shipping. Thanks!
