For all that were following my efforts to adapt an electronic trigger module to replace points and condensers in tractor mags. I have found that impulse action is not strong enough to give sufficient spark for starting but good when the mag is up to speed on Case Mags. I have a Fairbanks Morse that I have wound the impulse spring up tighter that I am sure will work, It has about 3/8 good spark at impulse cranking speed. If anyone else is inclined to tinker with this, Stens has a universal module relatively cheap available at most Lawn and Garden service dealers, it is a simple 2 wire module, one to the coil primary wire, the other to ground. some chain saw manufacturers used modules as did John Deere in many Kawasaki powered lawn tractors. I have been busy on other projects , yesterday it was new lift pump on the 1840 injection system and doing some work for my previous employer prior to that.
