hello all, so i have some questions and comments about a massey harris 101 that i believe is a 1946 twin power senior model. please feel free to correct me if that is not what this model is called. As per the serial number, it looks like it falls in the 1946 bracket. Plus the serial tag says "101 SR" does that refer to 101 "senior rowcrop?" i am sure it is a senior since it does have the continental flathead 6 engine instead of the chrysler flathead 6 of the earlier 101 and 101 super years. And it does look like it says twin power on hood decal. which goes along with the linkage coming from the transmission that allows the higher RPM in belt mode of trans shifter.
what are your comments?
i think the home made 3 point is unique and well built for what it is. I am surprised by the brass hydraulic lines and how tidy the entire system is.
I am also very surprised by the home made wide front axle. I am amazed how they used pre existing holes insteal of welding and drilling everywhere. I will be able to remove the front axle and re install the factory wheels with very little work and the only cutting will be the flat bar between the original front wheels.
i am surprised that it has all the sheet metal, side panels and fenders and even the hand crank in the holder.
i pulled the brakes apart for inspection but it looks like just some brake clean and a small torch and they will go back together.
