Massey Harris antique plow serial #2247 needs hitch

I just purchased a Massey Harris 3 bottom plow (serial number 2247) but it is missing the hitch hook up (See photos). Does anyone have this plow and would be able to measure the dimensions of the hitch parts so I could cut and drill a hitch? It doesn’t look that complicated. Thanks for any help, John

The drilling a hole in a bar of steel is not that hard. It is making the whole trip mechanism for the tongue that is harder. Without it if you hit something like a big stone you will bend or ruin something.

Caterpillar guy is correct - it needs the safety device. Only the correct police would care if you installed a complete hitch from another brand.

Trying to figure out exactly what you do have. They never put serial numbers on the plows. Cannot tell if it is a No' 28 plow or not I had a No 26 and it does not look the same but mine was on rubber and a hydrolic lift plow. From what I see I cannot tell if you have any of the hitch frame or not so do you need every thing or just the break a way coupling? That part was not unique to Massey plows byt most clutch lift plows the complete hitch will fit and work, Oliver will not. So if you need everything even from a Deere plow will bout right on with only 2 bolts depending on if you have the hitch mounting plates or not, If not a complete hitch will bolt on with only 4 bolts. Now if you just need the break a way coupler a couple of styles can be mounted
