I installed a new boot, plunger, yoke, etc. I tightened the plunger to where I understand it needs tightened to. I set the draft and speed controls to their respective position(fast and the arrow between the dots) I have a good inch or more before the rod contacts the plunger. Unless I'm misunderstanding or not understanding how the plunger works, something must be wrong with the linkage or something else. It all appears to be in the right place. The speed linkage adjusts fine. The draft nut is fully in. The nut/spring adjustment on the linkage doesn't take up even 1/10th of this.
I'll attach a couple videos of the linkage being worked.
My understanding is the little rod is supposed to push through the spacer with the hole in it and up against the back of the plunger or cup(Not sure which) which in return actuates the pump back and forth to keep the tool level. This should be touching it during adjustment, right? I assume when you are using it the rod pushes the spring and goes in and out with it as the implement bounces. I tried moving the lift arms to see if anything moved but it doesn't appear to have any connection to it.
I feel like if the rod was longer that it would work. Is my rod just broken off or something? Someone had obviously been in it before. I didn't see any pieces. It stays in and doesn't fall out of it's hole. The draft control was super loose before I took it apart too if I recall. If anyone could point me in the right direction here I'd appreciate it.
I put the videos on youtube. One is of me actuating it and showing how far from touching it is and the other is me showing the linkage. I'm not sure but the forum didn't like my video format or something. I included a picture of how deep the draft nut is in and the linkage.
I appreciate any help that any of you could give me. I'm really not sure what to do from here.
