MF 1100 3-Pt Lift Issue

When brush cutting with MF-1100 recently, I noticed the 3 point lift was slow in responding and wouldn't fully lift the 7' cutter. The lift worked fine when I started. Noticed the problem after 3-4 hours run time. I thought it may be the main hydraulic filter so I changed it. That did not affect the problem. The lift will fully raise slowly with no weight on the arms or with a relatively light back blade attached. Position control works - just slowly. With the lift raised if I pull the unloading valve or shut off the engine, the lift drops quickly; not a slow leak down. Steering, brakes, remotes, MultiPower, PTO clutch are all normal. No strange noises. I have a shop manual. Been reading and trying to understand how the system works. I have some things to check inside the inspection plates. Was wondering if you folks may have suggestions about likely cause and what to check first. Appreciate any help and suggestions you can offer.

Have you dropped the lower plate and checked the oil intake screen? It might need cleaned.

I have not, but I will. I can understand how a restriction would cause the lift to be slow. Would that cause the lift to drop quickly when engine is shut down? The tractor is on property about 100 miles from home. I'm formulating a list of things to check next time I go there. Speaking of the intake screen, I replaced it a few years ago with a shorter version that AGCO said was the specified replacement. I have a strong circular magnet that was originally on a strobe light. I was thinking of putting that magnet on the top of the intake screen. Is that a good idea? Sometimes my good ideas turn out to be not so good.

Follow up on old post. After removing inspection plates found that I could get the lift to raise if I manually pressed the linkage on the control valve assembly. Everything looked right per the shop manual. With help of a borescope, checked the linkages and springs to be sure everything was in place. (I was suspecting a broken spring.) Could not find any issues. Went through the linkage adjustment procedures in the shop manual. The only significant adjustment required was shortening the main servo valve rod. That corrected the problem. Guessing the main valve has some wear or was sticky? Ran the tractor with the brush cutter for an hour. Still worked after oil was hot.
