I tend to over study things because I love to learn. I have a MF 180 with Multi-Power and Auxiliary Hydraulics. I have 2 main manuals, plus an operators manual, that I purchased from Yesterday's Tractor years ago. Lots of info in them but they lack any flow chart showing what is happening as controls levers are in different positions. Are there any? I tore center case apart to address loss of low end gears. I believe I solve that issue and now putting unit back together. I suspect I have lift issue also. That is why I'm trying to fully understand how the hydraulics work. I installed the lift cover last night. But before I did that, I fully disassembled and cleaned the Pump control valve, Dashport and Pressure control valve. I can now tell that someone has been inside these items in the past. From the outside these were pristine, but inside tooling marks and burs. I checked Diaphragm for leak and it is good. All 3 items contained black sludge and dirt. First question I have, does the diaphragm work with the oil applying pressure to it then exhaust out the small vent hole in the center of it housing? Can I Bypass the Auxiliary pump so I don't have to install the exterior controls and hoses so I can test my low-end gear repairs then trouble shoot the 3 point lift arms? This will save me a lot of time if I have to remove Lift cover again. Diagrams attached of what is actually on my tractor. Thanks. (If you have a MF 180 these books are worth the expense.)
