MF 230 diesel pump----slight leak

I have a MF 230 with a 3 cyl Perkins diesel. It runs just fine but has a slight leak where the throttle arm is on the injector pump when running. I was told many years ago that it's an easy fix, just replace an o-ring. Anybody here have any actual experience with this repair?

I did one on a 245 years ago. If you do a search with the archives you may find the step by step instructions. The key is placing the spring back in the exact position you found it or it's over. The resident pump expert, Dieseltech, has always said that you probably need to have the pump resealed because if one oring/seal is bad the rest will follow shortly and I believe him! In my situation I HAD to have it running NOW versus later so I only did the top cover and yes, I'm on borrowed time. The kit I found came with a new gasket and orings for both the throttle shaft and shut-off shaft. The hardest part besides the spring was getting it "operating room" clean, no lint or dirt at ALL before you take it apart. I used carb cleaner and a plastic brush. Yes, you can do it but you have to be meticulous and deliberate. If it seems overwhelming I would suggest you send it to the Expert ;-)

Pulling top cover is no biggie easy way is take throttle lever off pin take nut off and when you are lifting cover push it down and let it stay hooked to governor then it is easier to make sure it stays where it supposed to put back to get the same
Way just need four orings and gasket
