I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas? My Massey Ferguson 265 with a live PTO (two stage clutch and no ground pto) has started having an issue. The other night I was using it with a brush hog and the PTO began disengaging itself. The lever would fall out of gear. I unhooked from the mower and checked the tractor's PTO shaft for play. I could only move it back and forth around a quarter inch, so I doubt it is the bearing or retainer clip. The only other clue is that recently I had noticed an audible click when I pushed the clutch all the way in to disengage equipment. Had anyone had this problem?
