MF 40 Axle Bearings/Gaskets

I have an Early 70's MF 40 Industrial that I am having some confusion on parts with.

The Axle casing number for the left side axle is LH1861655M1. For clarification purposes, it had clearly been opened up before - this tractor belonged to the city/road crew, as I understand it, before I bought it from the city mechanic.

I pulled that axle/casing off as a unit to replace what I thought was a heavily leaking gasket around the ring (The big 15" bell gasket). I found out rather quickly that this was likely not the issue I needed to fix, as it dumped out about 2 gallons of fluid as soon as I cracked the housing away from the rear section - I would have expected it to be bone dry, as it was leaking from the bottom of the joint where it meets the center/rear housing. I think if the gasket was the issue, it would have leaked all the way to the lowest point, which it clearly had not.

Based on that, I believe that my issue is actually with the axle seal, and what I was seeing leaking was probably from where the brake cover meets the axle housing. (I'd love any educated confirmation I can get on that). The brakes are not a necessarily reliable indicator in this case on if they had oil or not. I have barely used them, as most of my land is flat, and they've never been particularly responsive.

Below is my part confusion:
1. I found an O ring AND a Gasket around the big ring. The MF-40 guide tells me that depending on the axle type, there could be a paper gasket, OR an O-ring. I've not seen any breakouts that show both. YT sells both options.

2. I found a bearing that certainly needs replacement - it's loose, and has some pitting from a likely hard life. However, the only replacement I can find here is a ball-bearing, and this is a roller bearing. I see a roller bearing in the book as well, unfortunately, I can't seem to find the right part number for a replacement roller bearing/cup.

The specs on the ball-bearing here are for it to be 90mm OD, 50mm ID, and 20mm width. The one installed currently is 90x50 x 25 (the 25 is more or less). The cup matches as well.

Can someone assist me in understanding the O-Ring+Gasket situation (Is this required, is it a belt and suspenders thing, is it harmful), and help me identify the correct replacement bearing? Can the ball bearing (195493M1) + Cup be substituted in, or should I stick to seeking out the 90x50x25ish roller bearing?

I have since sealed everything back up, but I'm planning on rebuilding at least that axle (It's the less complicated one) later this year or early next. I'd take any other axle rebuild advice as well. The tractor in general runs fantastic, I'm just trying to close out all the leaks before I really dig in to the hydraulic system in my next phase of money-pitting.

Early mf40 had dry brakes paper gaskets
Later models came with wet brakes orings
On housing also square axle and round axle
