I have a 1964 MF 65 Engine Serial # 37786240 Tractor Ser # CNDW707105 which has a Multipower Transmission. I have manual MF19.

I am finding that I have power in high range but am unable to climb a small hill in 1st gear.
I operate in low range but have slippage in the pedal free play. extended end of the clutch release shaft
How will I tell when turning the shaft clockwise until engagement with the clutch fingers are felt. The Clutch engages when in gear but when wanting to reverse with a load in the bucket, tractor does not move. I shut off the engine, and then the gear releases. Re-start engine, Reverse gear and back out with my load.

Since the Clutch does not seem to be the problem. What else could be the problem(question mark) Multipower Transmission requires splitting of the tractor and remove the steering gear from the front unit.
What parts would I require to order(question mark)
We will be heading into feeding season (October to May) round bales. So need to fix my tractor, have about 10 miles to travel to get bales and return. Max round bales can travel on hay wagon is 7 bales at speed of less than 30 mph. By November chains have to be added to rear tires. We may have winter mid November, so need to get tractor fixed. I am 3rd person to own this tractor.

The clutch shaft clamp arm should just touch the pressure plate release levers inside when the stop is away from the case 1/8 inch gap. Use a rod through the shaft with the clamp loose, turn the shaft clockwise, then move the clamp lever top forward against a 1/8 shim, then tighten the clamp. Better yet, get a service manual for more info. There are two pin holes for the clutch pedal, the upper hole is for releasing BOTH the main clutch AND PTO clutch. If PTO is not being used the lower hole can be used which lowers the pedal for main clutch release only. The lower shaft in the pic is the left brake control cross shaft.
