My 300 loaded with wheat

Back in the day, a buyer of a tractor had the option of getting it in a number of different configurations as the pictures show on the 300. Having grown up on a farm that didn't have a hill on it, my family always had narrow front tractors because of their maneuverability. Others, with hilly ground, chose the wide fronts because of their stability, not having the inherent weakness of tipping like the narrow front. They were also easier to plow with as the right front tire, being in the furrow, helped keep the tractor straight and View attachment 98165View attachment 98166allowed the operator to sleep a little more. lol
What's the difference between the 310 and 311?

The 310 is a utility tractor, non adjustable heavy duty front axle and a non adjustable rear axle, has a flat plate the wheel bolts to. Used mainly for a loader type of work. The 311 can be narrow or wide front (adjustable) and has adjustable rear wheels by sliding in or out on the axles. The type of rim aids in this adjusment too for the different widths of rows in row crop farming.
The 312 was a precursor to the 350 (same look but with a 164 ci motor)l and has longer Eagle hitch arms and a top link mount on the back that extended it from the tractor and looks like someone's after thought, not very "factory". The 350 came with a more refined top link mount. I believe the 350 also has a heavier rear axle with different lift arm mount on the axle and it was replaced by the 500B. Same tractor but different hood styling. The 630 is the same as the 500B but has a larger 188 ci motor. All have the 36 inch sunburst wheels. There is (for an old man) a world of difference in getting on from the front of a 311 and a 312, 350 or 630. One of the reasons I like using my 311 to do odd jobs with.

Thank God the previous owner put on an auxiliary step on the 630. I'm getting too old for a 30" first step.

Thanks. Mine must be a 311

Actually the 310 can have adjustable rear tread just not row crop type. There are two wheels available, adjustable dish type and integral type. Both the 310 & LP pics above have the adjustable type and that seems to be factory and the integral type optional for backhoe.
