The original subject was Re: Need an antenna upgrade, suggestions?.
I was looking for gain figures across the FM Band for the Winegard HD8200 and found this forum. If it has decent gain across the FM band, I thought I could just put up one antenna on a rotator from my home near Pellston. Like you noted, there's just the Canadian Analog stations on 2 and 3.
I looked at your FMFool list and realized that it is near Hawks, MI. My father was born in Presque Isle County and I still have a bunch of distant relatives near there. Back in the late 1950s and 1960s, we visited and stayed there sometimes at or near Lake Nettie. Near there on Highway 638, we had some cousins that lived near Rasche Rd. and Dewyre Rd. They had a big tower and antenna and had antennas to get WTOM 4, and satellite WPBN 7, because the microwave links were unreliable at times. They also had some kind of AM radio antenna, maybe a wire up the antenna connected to a receiver on top of the TV. I was too young to know everything about it at the time, but they could get ground waves from many AM stations in Southeast Michigan in the Daytime on that. They came in well too.
Looking forward to hearing any other information you may have.
