can anyone name this lever? Iam thinking it's some sorda of a transmission disconnect? is it in the correct position for moving? Clutch is catching right on the end of this tractor

Looks like the PTO clutch lever. It should be left in down position except when shifting the PTO into gear or for stopping the PTO while in operation. I wouldn't recommend leaving locked in the up position for any extended period of time.

nope, pto lever is under seat. Its clearly marked. Where abouts in central ky you from? Were in Alabama now, but from Edmonton, Ky.

Thanks Harry, and Haymakin for that photo. WOW, learned something new. I would have never guessed that. This was not my tractor, rather one that I was working on for a friend. It looks like it has been left in the up position for quite some time. Guess that is the reason that the clutch pedal is catching right on the very end.
