New holland super 66 twine finger

I recently picked up an old super 66 baler. I was adjusting tge clearance between twine finger and needle and realized the twine finger assembly wasn't going back to the "open" position. I'm assuming there is supposed to be a spring there somewhere to pull it back. Can someone shed some light on this

It seems about once a week during haying season someone asks the same question, and someone responds with a picture of where the spring goes. But I'll be blamed if I can't find an old post with a picture, and I'm not near my baler to take a picture. Yes, there is a spring. It goes from the fingers to the main casting on one the knotter. Not uncommon for the springs to break and get lost in a field.

A couple of pictures from Google of the twine finger spring - one taken from the front facing the back, other taken from the back facing forward.

Ok that's what i figured. I tried looking up the part number for that spring but can't seem to find it. I'll have to see if I have a spring laying around that will work for now. I appreciate the info!

The New Holland part number is 143224, advertised as 1" coil O.D.by 5-7/16" long. Probably can fins something at the local Napa or hardware store that'll do. I used a bungee cord hooked back to one of the plunger hand cranks one time when I was in a pinch. Doesn't need to be uber strong, just enough to return them to home consistently.
