NH 7060 Round Baler twine issue

Have a New Holland 7060 round baler with the simple twine wrap which has worked really well since i bought it years ago. However this fall, it started with a problem while baling corn stalks. It would on occasion wrap with twine twice. Then it reached a point where the twine arms would return to home position and immediately start again. I manually ejected the bale and cleaned up the machine and parked it as i couldn't figure out how to make the twine arms stay in home position. The breakaway feature with the steel ball was fixed previously and that holds normally. Appreciate very much any clue as to where to look next.

My BR7070 did the same thing a few years ago, the clutch stop was out of adjustment

When the twine arms are parked the clutch pawl (1) should over lap the stop (2) by 1/8 to 1/4 inch
Mine was barely touching as it passed keeping the clutch engaged

One other thing that hasn’t happened on my present baler but did on my old 640, same system

The cam with the little roller that pulled the stop lever forward got dry in the pivot. When the system tripped to tie that cam flies forward and would stick, this caused the roller to miss the stop arm and start the cycle over again
I would check that first to make sure the stop arm is coming forward to catch the clutch lever

Photo shows a grease fitting on that cam, the 640 didn’t have one, if my 7070 has one it hasn’t been greased in a while, but it soon will be

Thanks for the additional info. i may have missed greasing that fitting and it very well maybe sticking. If there is a nice enough day. i will hook up the PTO, grease that fitting and make sure it is working before tackling the more complicated adjustment. Thanks very much for your help. Hope you have a good Winter.

Good luck and if you still have issues ask
Just put mine away for the winter last week after finally getting enough moisture for a 2nd cutting
