I have used a NH 848 for around 30 years and I have never sheared a single pin on the main drive line. I have sheared many pickup pins. I try to remember to tighten the pickup pins before heading to the field. Sometimes it will shear a pickup pin if the bolt is not tight.

Keep us posted on what you find out.

Best wishes.

Think my 855 is like yours, just bigger.
Check the chains that drive the rollers, 25 and 62 in the pic.
Had one that was so sloppy it could pinch itself, breaking the main shear bolt.
My bad for not checking chain tension like I should.
I'm sure there's several things that could cause it, but it was this on mine.
Good luck

I don't know how those New Hollands work, but I had a small stone down in the bottom rolls on my Gehl one time. It would get down in the wrong position and stop them, then bang, there went a shear pin.
