No Oil Pressure after oil change (MF135)

You might try using a Teflon based paste, rather than tape. A brass plug might work better as well, it will be softer and conform to the threads better
I'd wondered about that...I've got some Permatex PTFE paste...and I'd also thought about blue (medium/hand tool removable) Loctite...

I plan to order a Bosch pressure gauge to replace the Chinese one
Most all of the Bosch gauges are also made in China. At least all the lower priced ones.

But, that does not mean they are not just as good as made in any other country.

All depends on Bosch demanding and sticking with the level of quality they are importing.

Jim probably won’t like this, believe it of not a smear of RTV around the plug threads and not cranking it down real tight will give it a seep proof seal.

Isn't that pretty useless when the threads are soaked in oil?
Believe it or not in my experience it has worked well. Oil drained out to just drips, wipe off plug apply RTV not much beyond the height of the threads. Wipe in plug hole with rag and screw it in. Amazing stuff, but to much of a good thing can lead to trouble in other scenarios.

It's nothing to me. If RTV (need the most oil resistant one like Ultra Black, I think.) is used it is best if it is kept on the threads, so it pushes out as the plug goes in. Permatex #1 or #2 would work as well

Thanks again everybody who helped contribute to answering my question. The tactor was just running for a bit, and was showing good oil pressure. I'll be replacing the gauge sometime this week.

Hopefully this thread can help another novice tractor owner (like myself) in the future.
