I when to look at a 6600 to be auctioned, It has a odd serial number and looks more like a 5000 with a 6600 grill
Model code just says 6600
Serial number is 0X122784
Production date 2H12B which would be 1982 as the transmission casing code is E0NN for a 1980 design
I believe this tractor may have been built in Brazil as tractor data shows 6600 models made in Brazil, but my info shows Brazil serial numbers starting with V

Notice rear mounted 5000 style exhaust
Rear axle appears to be 5000 style with no external hydraulic filter or dipstick by the left foot board found on a -600 series, also has oil bath air cleaner

Engine casting number I’ve never seen before

Much of this tractor remains me of the Mexico built 5900 but those had serial numbers beginning with ZX and only 5 numbers

Anyone have any info on this oddity

I agree, very odd. I've never seen that 74NY casting prefix before, nor have I ever seen the S with a circle around it.

I vaguely remember a tractor with an X in the Serial number several years back. Someone was asking me for help in identifying it. I could be mistaken but I think that one turned out to be made in Mexico, but I don't think that it was a 6600.

After a little searching I found versions of the 4600, 5600, 6600 were built in Sao Bernardo, Brazil
4600 - 1976-84
5600 - 1982-84
6600 - 1976-84
This may be the location for the 0X serial numbers
My 10 and 30 series parts manuals list the V serial numbers for models built in São Paulo, Brazil, however tractor data list 30 series being built in Caritibo, Brazil
I’ll believe my Ford manuals.

My Ford service manuals list the definition of the -000 series model codes but no in the parts book
I do not have a -600 series service manuals and those codes are not listed in the parts book
On the 10 and 30 series the codes are in the parts books and not in the service manuals

Does anyone have the -600 series service manuals to check for the codes
