OEM o-ring color code?

Good day!

What do the colored dots on the John Deere OEM o-rings denote / indicate?

I have a stash of leftover o-rings that was given to me from a former John Deere tech.

Seems to me that the o-rings with the blue dots are a match for the size and durometer of SAE / ORB fitting applications.

I also have a lot with a yellow dot and some with white, tan, red, and light blue dots.

TIA

Their codes could be more than durometer classification. Some seals are buna/nitrile, some are EPDM, and some are FKM/Viton depending upon application. I don't have a JD secret decoder ring, however.

hello,, black orings w/ yellow dot are 75 durometer, good for petroleum or water,,,,,,,,, orings w/ blue dot are 90 duro--- for the same,, petro & water,, be careful with orings w/ reddish brown or rust color mark,, these are for WATER ONLY,, ,, white marking is 90 duro,,,& withstands petro & water all these are BLACK orings w/ different markings

In my opinion, you're doing pretty good to still be working and posting on forums at 75. There's no doubt that technology is amazing but we'd likely be in better shape all around if all we had was flip phones....

Thanks again for the info.!
