Oil pump and sleeve and piston replacement????

White 2 105 oil pump sleeve and piston replacement why will the oil pan not come out while engine is lift up got pan dropped down but not removed ?

Been years since I had a pan off a Perkins, but I'm thinking there might be a flat piece of sheet metal welded across it. If there is, I'm guessing it's catching the pick up.
