Oil pump removal 1961 Jet Star

I am in the process of replacing the oil pump on my 1961 Jet Stat. Looked easy enough, take off 4 nuts remove the l’olfactive pump install the new pump. Isn’t quite that simple. Nuts are off
And that old pump does it to remove its self from the engine.Block.
Anybody replaced an oil pump lately and got any words of wisdom for me as to how to get it unstuck for and out of thd bosses line of site.
after pulling the engine side pan
I checked the innards of the tractor and all seemed as should .
So any way I’m looking to put a plow blade on the on display as we both ran down the mountain to go skiing
Again I need to know if there is a trick removing an old oil pump from your Boat and would be greatful for some members that have had the same problems and. Would like enlighten me
Thanks,
Brian

First you should have parts and repair manual! Second why are you removing oil pump? Have you gotten to the bottom of the problem?

I have the parts manual, I also have the shop manual as well as the owners manua
I bought the tractor for a project it was sized up been sitting out side for 9 or 10 years lots of water in engine and transmission and rear end
Tore the engine down heads and jugs to the machine shop. Pistons. Rods, valves lifters clutch
All replaced, 42 thousand over bore.
The tractor would do all right till it warmed it.at
this point any time the tractor was idling oil preasure would drop off to about 10 psi increase the RPM’s and the oil pressure would go back up to around 25 psi. I checked I changed oil went to a straight 30 weight oil same problem . Tried adjusting the oil pressure with the adjustment screw on the oil pump doesn’t seem to make a difference I inquired on this forum looking for a solution and haven’t found it yet.
What would you suggest i do next ??

There has been some oil filter issues on some tractors, but I have not had them. Leaks in the oil system can cause pressure issues but are hard to find. I would inspect the pump for rust or wear and changing it out will tell you if it's the problem. Also look for any springs or check valves on that and the adjustment. I have not had oil pump issues on mine.

All the machine shop work you mentioned is top end. Did you actually measure the crankshsaft for wear with a micrometer?
