Oliver 88 parts for XO-121 recreation

its been a bit since I've posted on the forum that taught me so much. You can see my extensive McCormick-Deering 10-0 builds over in the IH area. My latest project has taken quite a while. I have 1 of the 3 original Oliver XO-121 motors. Getting the motor rebuilt has been a journey but an amazing story in of itself. I'm trying to finish up some mechanicals. My front hub had a very worn part and the base of the spindle/hub. I believe it to be part 1K-738 - cup, front wheel bearing seal wearring. It seemed to protect the cast from wearing. Mine was badly worn through in spots. Are these reproduced anywhere? I think I have all the other bearings in working order.

I have new rear tires/wheels ready to go. You can laugh at how someone mounted the one tire backwards from the other. I left it that way since we are changing wheels & tires. Next comes lots of sheet metal and paint. I'm trying to find someone (near SW Missouri) who can fit me in their schedule so I can be ready for next summer show schedule. Thanks for any advice! Dave

Are you just talking about that tin cup that drives on the spindle, that the seal runs against? Any place that has the seal should have the cup. I've gotten them from the AGCO dealer. Korves or Jerry at Ag Parts First come to mind as the first place to look if you don't want to go the dealer route.

Beautiful job on the tractor by the way.

I believe that is the part! Thank you for the info, I just have looked online searching and have not reach out to anyone. Thanks!

That is so cool you got to drive the original. I acquired the #3 motor from the Floyd County Museum. It was just a block & head in the basement rotting away. I'm not sure if they seized #2 or #3. #2 is in the museum on a stand with no internals (from my understanding).

I'll do a more detailed post on the engine after I recall more memories with the engine builder. Here is another short run video. You can feel the high compression.

Ya, that's not a lip seal. There are two of those cups. One drives on the spindle, the other one has a thick rubber pad on it, goes in the hub and the rubber presses up against the one on the spindle.

I took a drive out to Welters Farm Supply in Verona, MO and they had 2 sitting on the shelf in the back! Thanks again.
