I am relatively new to the world of old tractors and am restoring a severely neglected 1955 Oliver Super 55. Rebuilt the electrical system and have it running great. I changed oil and topped off all fluids.
There are 3 separate fluid systems for front bucket, PTO and transmission.
The transmission level was very low. I removed the overflow plug next to the PTO shaft and filled the transmission fluid at the fill cap under the steering wheel. I used the tractor for several hours and after parking it found a fair amount of transmission fluid had leaked onto the floor.
Wonder if gaskets were dried out due to low fluid level and now are leaking.
Thanks
