Hello all,
I’m in the process of restoring a Super 77 Diesel and would like to add a tachometer. Does anyone know how the tach drive is supposed to come out of the block? The block has an embossment for the distributor, but from the factory, there's a plate over it that holds the first fuel filter after the lift pump. Is there an adapter for the unused distributor drive that would provide a connection point for the tachometer cable? Does anyone know where I can find a complete kit, including the tachometer cable and whatever connects it to the block?
I'm planning to use this tractor with some PTO equipment and need a way to confirm I'm getting the correct PTO RPMs.
The shop manual mentions a field upgrade kit for the tachometer but doesn’t include any additional drawings or installation instructions. Unfortunately, Olivers are quite rare in my area, and Super Series even more so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
