Over tightened hydraulic hoses

I need to replace my hoses to the remotes on my super 88. Couldn’t get them loose on the tractor, ended up with them in the vice and cutting hoses off of the fittings, clamping the ends in the vice and used a 30” pipe wrench with a cheater on it to get them out. Why do people think they need to be that tight??

Hydraulic fittings have a plating on them that corrodes or etches,or whatever and simply locks them in place with exposure to time and moisture even if they weren't overtightened. This is must be "your first time", anyone that have worked with this stuff for many years would not be surprised by it.

Pipe fittings like a bit of heat as well to soften the dope if someone used good stuff. Most stuff they sell nowadays doesn’t harden as good as the old but it does come apart much better. There is also a hydraulic loctite in a brown bottle I didn’t know existed till I saw people put it on in a factory setting. This would also be softened by heat. All depends who did it last I’ve seen people put bearing mount places they shouldn’t as well. Then heat is necessary.

The half inch impact or larger if it still won’t cooperate at the point you were at also is a good way to loosen that with the hose cut off it’s fair game.
