A friend and i are rebuilding the gas engine in my 135. I decided to get the rebuild parts from our hosts on this site..
I ordered everything I thought i needed. The engine kit was a maxiforce brand. The cylinder liners come packed in 3 boxes, one for each cylinder. In each pox is the liner, piston, piston pin, clips and piston rings. We installed the liner, and i was going to set the end gaps on the rings. Took the rings out of the box and 2of the 3 sets were the wrong diameter. the third set was for a diesel piston, so it had 5 rings instead of 3. The pistons all had 3 ring grooves so they were correct. All 3 ring packages had the same part number. Made me think wow, how can that happen, and oh boy this will be a drag to straighten out.
Sent an email to yesterdays tractors, on Monday morning and the new rings were here on Wednesday. I thought that was good customer service so i thought i would share it. Cant blame the original problem on this site as that was a box delivered from a vendor.
