Power steering kit 135

I have a Massey Ferguson 135 Serial # 9A 94490 can anyone tell me if a power steering kit will work if so what the kit number is, and where i can purchase it.
I believe this tractor was made between 1967 and 1970. it has a 3 cylinder gas engine I have heard that it depends if it has a sweep axle or not.
and how can i tell if it has a sweep axle? Thank you for any help or advise on this

Just wanted to let you know, I found out I do have a sweep axle on my 135 MF, now to find the correct Power steering Kit for it. any suggestions as to where to look?

#1- If FOUR cylinder Cont. Engine, check for access plate/ cover, left fr side. Eaton kit?

Most of the kits I see listed are diesel only, such as the one listed at Parts ASAP.

I found one at a competitor that looks very different, but it might be for the straight axle.

If you google MF 135 power steering conversion kit you'll probably find it. This site prohibits posting links.

Thank you Painter, since my first post I have found out that my tractor has a swept axle just like the 135 with the Perkins 3 cylinder diesel
I have a 3 cylinder Perkins gas engine.
So you would think since many parts on the diesel engine interchange with the 3 cylinder gas engine that the power steering would work for both.

Massey Ferguson also made a 4 cylinder gas engine called the continental and I believe it had the straight axle. so the kit would not work for that one for sure. thanks again

The Continental gas tractors had adjustable swept back axles too like both my Perkins gas and diesel models do. My UK 135 has the straight front axle similar to the MF industrial tractors have.

I would think they'd be similar, but all the kits that say diesel are very specific about diesel only. Maybe a pump difference? Don't know. Contact Parts ASAP and ask why it's listed as diesel only.

ETA...In the parts book, they list the same pump gas, or diesel. There were two different pump manufacturers. It's definitely worth a call to find out why it's listed as diesel. Maybe there was some belief that only diesels had the swept back axle.

This may not help much. Although one might think the gas Perkins and the diesel used the same power steering pump. My parts book for the 165 shows three pumps Continental gas, Perkins gas and Perkins diesel. The Perkins gas appears to use a different drive gear from the diesel.

You may be correct. In the online parts book at AGCO for the 135, they list the following.

• [206] PUMP, POWER STEERING (GAS - DELUXE AND VINEYARD)
• [208] PUMP, POWER STEERING (GAS - DELUXE AND VINEYARD)
• [210] POWER STEERING PUMP
• [212] PUMP, POWER STEERING (GAS AND DIESEL - DELUXE AND VINEYARD)
• [214] PUMP, POWER STEERING (GAS AND DIESEL - DELUXE AND VINEYARD)
• [216] PUMP, POWER STEERING (ORCHARD)

The first two are the vertical type used on the Continental motor, the last one is a Plessy pump and doesn't look anything like the pump on my 135 Deluxe with a Perkins gas.. List 210, 212, and 214 are all Cessna pumps and are listed as gas and diesel.
