Question about ROPS mounting Ford 3000

I have a 1971 3000. It was gas originally. Previous owner installed a New Holland diesel (told me it was all original...). Anyway, I have been looking for a factory roll bar to put on it and a little confused about how they originally mounted. My fender is mounted to a flat boss that has two holes that allow bolts to attach the fenders. I have seen some 3000's and 2000's that have a plate mounted under the axle that has 4 bolts to mount the bar to, but doesn't use the holes for the fender as one of the mounting places. Is this how all of them are? seems like they would take advantage of the cast-in holes where the fenders mount...thanks

Double07's first picture is of a 4000 rear axle, not a 2000 or 3000. The factory ROPS on my 4000 looks like that except the fenders were bolted to the axle using the outside set of bolts, with the flange of the fender base under the base of the roll bar.

Thanks. So, the bottom picture shows that the bar is mounted 'straddling' the factory holes. Is this the way it was done at the factory? This is what I've seen on a few others. On my 3000, those 2 holes are used to mount the fender. I was thinking the roll bare might use those same holes to mount one side of the bar...
When your 3000 was built there were no ROPS being mounted at the factory. They were shipped separately to the dealers for installing where needed or sold later when owners wanted them twenty years later.
