My wiring was mostly mounted right in the middle of the dash panel, where the tool box would have been. While I had it apart, I wanted to add a tool box.
Today I installed the new battery tray. Had to do some persuasion to get all the holes to line up. Then I went to see about the air filter canister and found out that the battery tray did not have welded on back nuts. No big deal, I found two nuts that will work, just a surprise. So, I went to position the new tool box and the mounting hold did not line up (yet) with the hole in the dash because of this oil tube. You'll note from the picture that there is an 90 degree elbow at the gauge and another connector so the tube comes in from the inside so to speak. Do you think I can rotate that elbow to the outside? That would give me more than enough room for the toolbox. Even turning the elbow to be straight down would be enough room. The connector is no doubt tight so I'm not sure what to do. Tim PloughNman sent a nice picture as a reply to my post two years ago and I see he has a straight or perpendicular connector at the gauge - that would work too but I guess I did not want to mess with the gauge that is working I did buy a new tube. I'm sort of dry running things to see how it all fits back together. thank you.
