It’s not only my professional opinion but based on experience and observation over years as a power engineer schemes to by pass watt hour meters are a loosing and illegal procedure yukkk lol If I recall correctly way back in ee school at Purdue an executive from Duncan electric gave an entire seminar on the design and operation of their watt hour meters and all the ways to detect irregularities. Those guys are experts.
I’ve been a fan of and user of solar power for years even before it was popular. Of course the pure economics and pay back etc. remains an issue I’m not going into now. The use of high efficiency appliances, timed use and solar and wind options are the way to go in my professional opinion to save on energy costs
