Sometimes I wonder about him!!!!
At least this one is different and IT DOES RUN. 67/68 row crop narrow front gasser w/8 speed. Seems to be fairly low hours but has been sitting in a shed for ?? years. Needs all the typical stuff one would expect from this vintage but not entirely a dog. Has new rear tires and one fairly new front but I believe the other front tire is ORIGINAL. Like I said, seems to be fairly low hours.

I would like to think that Old Tractors are a socially acceptable addiction!

Btzj02 is right, haha. If you're looking for someone to judge him along with you, you got the wrong crowd 🤣. If i had the shed space, I would've bought a 4000 to go with my 3000. I have loads of other projects, but I enjoy working on my tractor the most.

The 4000's are sure a handy size tractor to be addicted to. I've got a 4000 AP, a 4100, and 4610 AP always find something to keep them busy. Just a nice handy utility tractor. I've also got a 961 in that size machine but that doesn't see the use any more since getting these ''New Fords''.

I told him he needs to find a 1 row mounted corn picker for this one so we can go into the 'squirrel corn' market. Not sure he appreciated that advice.;)

Nothing wrong with having a fleet of old tractors......especially when you are 83 and work alone......One per implement....saves a lot of cussing and muscle aches and pains. I now have 7 and was just considering buying a 7700.

Many old tractors show hours that various indicators cast suspicion on.

Those instrument clusters on the early 3 cylinder tractors were known to have issues and were replaced often, or left with the tach and hour meter not functional for many hundreds or even thousands of hours of operation. Then the cluster was replaced and the hours on the hour meter only indicate how many hours since the last time the cluster was replaced.

I'm basing my use estimate on the condition of pedals and deck, wear on lift arms/drawbar, and other wear points. I've watched a couple of these tractors 'mature' from brand new to almost 60 years old. Certainly, parts may be replaced but the overall appearance is the most informative.

On the 3 cylinder Fords of which I have/had quite a few, I look at the pedal wear. Tells me a lot more about usage than an hour meter. One thing I like about them is their instrument cluster is complete and at a great aftermarket price. As a matter of fact, I recently bought a CIH 395 with a wasted dash. Bought a Ford off ebay, made some sheet metal adjustments and wala....new dash.
