Super C hard to start after 12 volt conversion

While I NEVER saw a farm tractor coil with an "internal resistor" actually some exist, here's a couple coils with internal resistors (or thermistors or heat compensating resistors)....

Best wishes Happy Memorial Day, Thanks for your service Rich

The new 12 volt coil came with a Brillmann 12 Volt conversion kit and it DID say internal resistor On the coil.

They don't, the resistence is a function of being wound for the 14.3 volts found while running. Thinner wire and more of it. The paper pushers just believe that if one says external resistor, the other must say internal resistor. Zero understanding of reality. Jim

I put on a new 12 volt coil with internal resistor
For grins and giggles put the old coil back on and check if that makes a difference.

Dumb question was the polarity changed from positive ground to negative ground when the tractor was converted to 12 volts? If yes, check that the coil wiring is also changed to the same ground polarity.

My aren't we getting persnickety in our golden years. 👨‍🌾 How dare you call my Snap-on adjustable wrench a Cresent🌙.
True Son if you replaced points and condenser, dig old condenser out of trash and reinstall it.

True Son. I would rarely recommend this, but I will in this case. If you need more help with your tractor start a New post. In that post only say you have a 12 volt 3 ohm primary coil. Don’t use that other description even if that is what it says. This is one of those subjects that some YT guys get all over themselves about.
