Myself, I have a 10 dollar ammo box from TSC that I keep with the baler. (small square baler)
Whenever I bale, the ammo box is on the tractor, and this is what's in it:
flywheel shear pins
knotter shear pins
3/8" drive ratchet
6pt sockets for that ratchet from 3/8" to 3/4"... nothing fancy...not deep well, impact ... they just roll around loose in the box
3/8" ratcheting box end wrench
7/16" ratcheting box end wrench
1/2" ratcheting box end wrench
two... 9/16" ratcheting box end wrenches
A linoleum knife (with the hooked end... helps to cut knots caught on the billhook... or digs out hay/twine that wraps on the thrower bearings)
Small 90 degree dental pic... helps to pull knots caught on the billhook, or pic fine pieces of twine/hay out of bearings
Large 90 degree pic ... helps to remove/install springs
Vice grips (always... always have vice grips on hand)
Large slip jaw pliers
Maybe someday, I'll have a nice, newer baler that's perfectly tuned... but for today... this is how I roll.
Also...
Jackknife in my right back pocket (always)...for cutting knots when adding twine.
Grease gun on the deck of the tractor
I feel as though this is the amount of tools and such that keeps the baler going in the field, through small, everyday issues. For anything that can't be handled by this, it's a trip back to the shop for more extensive issues.
