Tractor Supply Mechanic Tool Warranty

I use a variety of mechanic's tool brands, everything from Snap On, Matco, Craftsman, Kobalt (Lowes), and Jobsmart (Tractor Supply). I have not had a failure of a Jobsmart hand tool
before recently, but I found out today that there is no in store replacement of defective wrenches, sockets, and related tools at Tractor Supply. I have had no questions from Ace
Hardware or Harbor Freight with replacing defective tools, and will be purchasing most hand tools from them in the future. I am not arguing the merit of buying cheap imported tools
vs. quality US made tools, but pointing out that if you do choose to buy an inexpensive foreign made hand tool, Tractor Supply will not replace defective tools in store. The Jobsmart
tools are labeled as having a lifetime warranty, but for a 20$ tool, most of us don't have time to fill out forms and jump through hoops to try to obtain a replacement tool under
factory warranty. I do appreciate having Tractor Supply stores in our area, and usually have good results with their products and services.

They have a very short (30 day, IIRC) return policy, as well.

I found that out when my son and I doubled up on the purchase of an item (welding helmet) and I didn't immediately get one returned. (Nearest store is 60 miles away from my farm.)

Helmet was in unopened package, I had the receipt, and there was no way it could be returned or even exchanged because I missed the deadline by a couple of days.

I think there's a mindset when it comes to tools and warranties. I was thinking about this yesterday as I went into HF to pick up a set of female torx sockets. My problem with oddball tools is finding them when there's a 10 to 20 year gap between uses.

In days gone by I bought most tools from the local stores. Craftsman, SK, Williams, Blue Point, Proto, etc. The warranty was important to me as I made a living with them. The only ones I ever had replaced under warranty were the occasional Craftsman. All those stores are gone now except the industrial supply where I bought Proto.

The only tools I buy anymore are specialty ones that I don't expect to hardly ever use. I consider them throw aways. Yes they claim a lifetime warranty but I know I won't bother to use it if it fails unless it fails the first time I use it.

I have all but quit going into TSC due to their prices being higher than most other places for things. Alsoit is getting to be like Home Cheapo where you can't find a clerk if you need one. If I have to go hunt up a clerk each time I want to find one then they need mmore help in the store or quit hiring people that just hide behind the shelves hoping not to be found.

The last time I was in ours their tractor parts section had gotten even smaller, barely enough to fill an end cap. They should consider changing their name to clothes and pet food

The incidence of defective tools is so rare that it is of no consequence to me. Just in case however, I made up my own easy-to-jump-through hoop out of plastic conduit. I throw it in the back of the truck whenever I go somewhere where they might ask me to jump through hoops. Being six foot diameter it makes jumping through hoops easy even at my advanced age.

The TS closest to us is about as bad. Just about anything they sell is throw away and tools included sorry to say

Are there some Tractor Supply stores that sell better quality tools than others? There are at least 10 Tractor Supply stores within an hour of me and in my travels they all sell the same brands.
