Trailer taillight wiring, is there a standard method?

I like this as it's not proprietary and don't need all that fasteners , all off the shelf and in stock. It's worth noting that is 30 years old on a 77 truck. The fasteners are enclosed and were sprayed. Led tail light wasn't a wet dream then.
If it was otr etc then would be an issue, it made that fixture (reused) it for something but lasted the life of the truck and 2x as long as the OEM and still worked.

I gotta ask you, are you the Sberry who used to be on Garage Journal?

This truck is in salt. Was painted and in brine grime every day for 10 years
Steamed (hot pressure wash) hundreds of times. I have used the boxes on dozens over decades. Never had one rust thru. I shoot them with penetrating spray inside and zing a bead of caulk smeared with finger on 3 sides.
I took that one apart when I demo the truck a while back, I put wire nuts on. Orient them up and stick the spare straw in and give them a squirt. Wires look like new as did the wire nut.
I have had 1 issues over decades where a nut I must have waited on fell off in the box.
Other than that NEVER had another failed connection. Fixture studs don't rust off.
I checked this out, and many "job boxes" and junction boxes are made of galvanized or stainless. One website even recommends the metal boxes over plastic in "harsh environments"...

learned something from this little debate...

That would be me.

I think that's in response to me.

If so, I just want say I enjoyed your contributions there, never did know what led to your departure but that's of no importance.

I see you've been here quite a while but I don't recall ever seeing your handle until the other day.

Anyway, I'll quit rambling now, gotta find some tractor stuff to read.

Hey , I rubbed one of the mods the wrong way there. Wasn't serious but he seemed to think we should be grateful to "use his forum" despite some of us bringing the content.
So one day a thread comes along with some nonsense and goes on for about 3 pages over Marriage from the island show and it must be he choked his carrot over it for long while.
So I say , don't worry , prolly got a rich dude with a big horn takes good care of her.
Evidently this was too personal.

I am a bit disillusioned with forums. So many have become a haven as a shill for politics. Just enuf participation to make it seems like the motivation is the subject at hand but waiting like roaches to sneak in at every chance.
