My 82 year old friend's 610 mule is a carbureted single cylinder, B&S engine. Twice I had to drain the oil filled with gas.
The mule stopped running when the gas oil mix made its way to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is like
one used on a lawn mower. I first thought the fuel pump had a leak and was leaking gas into the crankcase.
A new fuel pump didn't solve the problem.
This gizmo was connected to the gas tank's vent hose. The gizmp wouldn't allow the fuel tank to vent.
The excessive fuel pressure inside the tank would force gas into the carb. I think gas then flooded the carb and leaked past the rings into the crankcase.
I removed the gismo and so far no more gas in the oil and no more white smoke and gas and oil dripping out the muffler.
