Uses for an LUC power unit. Any suggestions?

I bought a non running LUC hand crank power unit as a project. (i like to bring life back in to things like this) When I brought it home the wife asked "What are you going to use that for?" Well, my only response was "Enjoyment!" Well, that didn't fly very well but made me wonder what I could do with it. It has a belt pulley out the back of the motor. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

They were used on combines and balers when they were new, and you could run a small sawmill with one. Carnival equipment was more often run with a Farmall or AC four cylinder engine.

Once you explain to your wife that you will need to buy a combine she might be ok with letting you run it just to hear it. The best thing I could think of for now would be a bank of ice cream makers. Look at Wardner's project on the Farmall page.

I'd go to Harbor Fright and get one of those generators and couple it up to that. Be sure you check the HP requirements.

I've got some 3.510" pistons for one if you need them.

Try agin. . .
