Weight of a gehl green chopper?

My neighbor has a Gehl green chopper (72 I believe, but they're all pretty much the same thing) that he was thinking about scrapping, but I'm thinking it's probably in better shape than ours that's been out of commision for many years. Between the 2, we should be able to make 1 good functional unit. Was wondering if anyone happened to know approx. how much one of those choppers weighs.

I'll probably run it across the scales if I get a chance. I'll ask the guy at the dump tomorrow what scrap is bringing as he's a scrapper on the side, and is always current on the prices around here.

well I own a gehl 72 not sure of what it weighs ,not much to them, I'm thinking 1500 to 2000 lbs ,but dont quote me on that.

I can"t imagine it is over a ton. BTW- should have a set of new knives for one- sold mine years ago. Intended to go from three to six for a finer chop.

I looked in the manual for ours once I got to the farm and it says right at 1958#'s. Local bone yard said they'd give $150 for one. Local yard is giving $160-180 per ton. After looking it over, the main issue seems to be that the over running clutch is busted. Might be able to fix it, or else
I'll swap with the one on ours.

Needs a couple other things, but overall not too bad.

One thing is the spout on his was bad, so he welded on a spout from a silo. Ours was just patched up the same year the rest of it went T.U., so we've got a good one we can mount up after grinding off his. Also need the cylinder mounts off ours, as this one doesn't have them.

This one even has a non-twisted frame!....
