When You Think You've Heard It All!!!!!

Sometimes I relay to some of you who call here, what I have heard and I know some of you don't believe me. Today this happened. A guy calls here and says his tractor is a 6sp w/ a hydraulic clutch but doesn't know the model. He wanted to know. OK, some quick thoughts come to mind, but this takes the cake. He said the clutch was slipping so he splits the tractor and can't find a clutch but a Torque Converter. Turns out he has a 530CK 8sp w/ Case-O-Matic. He Slobbered it back together w/ Silicone. Filled it w/ diesel fuel to flush and clean. "Didn't run it that long" he says. It was at this point he decided to call me. I know nothing further. Don't want to know.

Some just don't know. It's sad sometimes the trouble they get into just by being ignorant.

John, nothing surprises me now and it would have to be out there to say I have not seen a version of it. I don't know why people don't take some time to assess things and look stuff up. If you truly don't know, get someone who does. I am glad I am not a counter person or tech support.

I had a guy call me once about his DC. He asked where the rear crankshaft seal was. He split the tractor because he found oil in the clutch housing.
Heard that same thing happen here locally with a 930 6sp in an Amish shop. The Amish running the shop could not figure out how the tractor left the factory w/out the rear seal, so somehow he installed 1.
