Wico X Magneto help

Hoping someone can help me. Don't know if I am missing something obvious or what but here it goes. I have a Wico X magneto on a single cylinder Wisconsin engine. When I bench test the magneto with my spark plug light tester, it lights up when the mag clicks over. When I put the magneto on the engine and ground the spark plug light tester, it lights up when the engine rolls over. When I put the spark plug in the engine and connect the spark plug light tester to it, then the light no longer lights up. So Long story short, it appears I lose spark when I attach a spark plug. I tried 3 different spark plugs and same result for each. I have installed a new coil because my thinking was the magneto wasn't producing enough power to overcome the resistor in the spark plug to give off a spark. I have also installed a new ground (kill switch) button. Made sure the points were gapped properly and have a brand new spark plug wire. Also cleaned the contact points on the Mag cover. I didnt replace points/condesor yet because I was thinking since the tester light still goes off, those aren't bad but again these are just my assumptions from my limited knowledge of magnetos.

Can anyone help me diagnose why I cannot get my magneto to spark when everything is hooked up?

I would get the condenser tested or replaced. It may have enough to fire the lamp but not enough for the plug gap.

Well I feel dumb! Took the points off and noticed my sanding didn’t hardly clean them up. Did some aggressive sanding to them and when I put everything back together with the original parts…. It fired up like it hasn’t been sitting for 5+ years. Sometimes KISS really is the way to go!
