Will a pto from an 'A' fit on a 'B'?

Old B has a stripped pto...not sure exactly why or what is borked. I will hand over an A pto assembly to my friend if it will fit.....

If the drive gear from the drive train needs to be replaced, will that fit as well?

A and B are the same. However, there are some early/late differences that apply to both. You can swap the entire unit but problems crop up if you start trying to combine the wrong parts between the early and late units. If you try that, you need to do it with one hand while holding the parts catalog in the other. There are lubrication considerations for putting a late PTO on an early tractor.

Better take it apart first. The input part of the drive sleeve mite be the culprit or maybe even the shaft in the tranny. Thats why you need to take the bad assy off first then you can see. how it works. Even could be the shifting part. So remove the assy first and we can go from there. I have parts if that all you need free for postage

Farmer Frown will disassemble the old unit first, then bring it out to my A where he'll pull that one.

Good idea to have it all there.

thanks,
