Worst Car You have Ever Owned?

They all have junk and all have good, I've run mopar my entire driving life, had some minor issues but nothing really major, running 2 diesels now one 97 and one 05, 97 manual 05 auto, bought 05 with shot tranny, 90% of tranny failures with them is no-not with a big chip and heavy right foot, have to say the allison holds up good behind a dirtymax, yes intended, but not sure how it would with the low end of cummins, to me auto and diesel are just not right but the wife is not good with a manual so she got an auto. Worked on a lot of different brands automotive and equipment over the years and everyone had their issues! Just pick what you like and go with it!

A '87 Delta 88 diesel I had was a miserable heap. There were no parts available to fix the engine & there was no magical internet yet. The engine was also a diesel variant of my least favorite engine ever made, to begin with.

We had a Taurus with the 4 cyl in the family. I can't recall if it was a 4 or 5 speed though. It was an SHO, pretty peppy 4 cylinder,

Guido.
Taurus SHO was a 3.0 liter V-6 made by Yamaha. From 1996 up, they used either a 3.4 V-6 or a 3.2 V-8 with the AX4N transmission. There were no 4-cylinder SHOs.

Taurus MT5, 4 cylinder 5 speed car. Manual transmission was also used in SHO models. It was not a sturdy
transmission.
They were incredibly rare. Rare enough to say that they pretty much didn't exist anywhere except on paper.
Mechanics hated the 4-cylinder Tauruses. They were dangerously underpowered, and they leaked oil everywhere. To top it all off, they used the Escort automatic transmission - a 3-speed automatic with gears in the torque converter. What a classic piece of junk. The engine was a punched out Tempo engine. They had a propensity to leak from the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and the head gasket. The whole car was one that should have never been built.

I can’t remember the exact mode year but out Chevy celebrity was a pos. Engine blew with 40,000 miles on it.

I couldn't wait to get to the dealers to see that diesel engine only to be dismayed by it being a gas block expected to provide the diesel torque. Other problem with Olds at the time is that GM put Chevy. engines in some Olds and the owners were pizzzzzzzzed....said if I wanted a Chevy engine I would have bought a Chevy for a lot less. Some of the stunts Detroit pulled over the years and no body went to prison! But the earlier Olds engines were bullet proof. I had a '49 V8 in a 2 door sedan, and was a super engine, and car. Earlier models, when I was still in HS, a kid down the road had a 49 and he did everything he could doing wheelies around the hood and never was able to tear that V8 up nor the Hydromatic tranny.

86 Cadillac Fleetwood. Oh my God. Thought after fixing one thing at least that won't happen again,,,but it did. Couldn't stand that car and couldn't get rid of it because everybody but me seemed to know that was a bad year for Cadillac.

2004 Lincoln LS. It is literally a clone of a BMW that Ford reverse engineered and so naturally came with all the problems that plagued BMW. It's never something major, just routinely having to put little parts in it here and there. It runs great, but a real money pit for maintenance.

Only had one car. But the worst pickup I ever had was a Ford Diesel with a 6.0. Left me wondering many times if I would make it home

Mine was a 1991 Continental town car.

Early brake failure, window lift motors issues, tbi issues. Eve the head liner failed to stay up.

First year with the 4.6 liter ohv engine. The transmission was not that great either.

Even the Michelin tires wore out way faster then any other vehicle I have ever owened,

1992 Olds Cutlass 3.4 Dual Overhead Cams. Everything the dealer did was over 1000 bucks, 20 years ago. Requires a special timing lock down item for timing chain service.

That's a hard one for me but I have owned a lot of cars and trucks over the years. Back when I was 17/18 I had at least 7 VWs bugs and vans. Many had there problems and many had good points. Probably the one that caused the most problems was an Austin America that I had due to transmission issues
The trans used engine oil to operate the trans that was in the engine's sump. Woof. Jim

1982 Ford F150 4x4 300 6 cyl. 3 speed with overdrive trans. Trans went out just out of warranty. Could not stop the engine from making alot of condensation. Valve train always rattled. Just generally a poj.

That's the first time I've ever heard a bad word about the 300 Ford.
Me too! I think the reason they stop making them, Ford could not sell any parts for them.
Mine had over 120.000 miles when I sold it. As strong as the day a drove it out of the showroom!

Guido.

I put a 300 and a 5 speed out of a 95 into my 1952 F2 in 2016. It had around 122000 miles on it. I did not do anything to the bottom end and put a 252H Comp cam, a Clifford 4-barrel intake and headers on it still running strong. Drive it a lot spring, summer, and fall.
