Today, I picked up a dealer sign and it is by far from perfect. I was wondering what are some ways that I can preserve what is there? There is some flaking and rust. Is there some product that I can use
to condition the sign or am I relegated to clear coat? Any suggestions or ideas that have worked in your situation would be appreciated!

Non abrasive scotch bright and auto car wash garden hose drip slow water to flush off rust from scotch bright . Once water is clear of rust red ,put some DuPont polish compound and water slurry and polish towel shines it up . Car wax or cleaner wax . Or linseed oil
Lava soap on rust only works with scotch bright fine
Got to get the rusty red off or it will smear into painted surfaces .
I has potential good project .
Each is different , try it in small areas
