Brother in law has a mcculloch 1.5 hp ms1415 electric chainsaw the little peg on the chain adjuster rod that goes in the hole on the bar to tighten the chain is broke off no idea how it got broke he has zero mechanical skills he said he couldn't keep the chain on the bar so i said show me how you put the chain on the bar.so he gets a screwdriver and starts trying to pry the chain in the groove on the bar so i had to stop him And explain how you loosen the two nuts then turn the screw to tighten it. So i took it all apart it was completely full of wood chips inside. When i went to put it back together that's when I noticed the little tip was broke off.his cousin gave him the saw years ago so who knows how it ever got broke hes 62 yrs old and and doesn't know how to work on anything and doesn't want to great guy but just has other likes i guess.anyone know if parts are still available thanks Rick

If you just need the pin that slides the bar back and forth, I made one for an old saw some time back. You just take a bar of metal about 1/8 thick, drill and tap it for the adjuster screw, file/grind it down so it fits the slot and the end fits the hole in the bar and you are in business.

The best I understand, McCulloch sold out to some company in Italy. Quite some time ago. There may have been other sales, because the last saw I worked on that said McCulloch on it had an MTD model number.

MTD wants to trade on the old brand names but the quality is just no longer there.

I don't think anybody has parts for the old 'genuine' MCCs, but if you can come up with a part number you may find one on Ebay or some place like that.

Lots of the usual parts places offer SOME parts for these, but most parts seem to be out of stock at most places, probably meaning they won't ever be back in stock. One representative diagram is below, but I'm not sure from looking at it and your picture exactly what part you need or if it's even on the diagram. As mentioned, it doesn't look like all that difficult of a fabrication, and that will probably be your simplest bet.

I think that may actually be a Ryobi. I can't find any parts outlets for the adjuster pin.

Not saying you're right, not saying you're wrong, but McCulloch is owned by Husqvarna.

You may well be right. But this wouldn't be the first time a tool was carried by several different companies and just rebadged. I have 2 chainsaws in for work in my shop right now that are exactly the same- 1-Poulan (Owned by Husqvarna now) and 1- Craftsman. It's entirely possible the same saw is made in the same factory in China and the only difference is the label.
