The generator on my Super C wasn't working when I bought the tractor and I put on an alternator and made the system 12 volts. Problem is the alternator I have has to be cobbled up for the bracket so my cultivators don't hit it. My question is there an alternator people have used that will let the cultivators go past it. I was thinking about putting a 12 volt generator on the tractor but I can't find parts for the one I have. The number is 1100409 and the field coils are bad. I can't tell if field coils from other generators will cross over and work from information I have found. I definitely want 12 volts from either a generator or alternator. I know alternators are a lot cheaper but I'd like the original look of a generator if possible. In the end I want something that works and doesn't hit the cultivators. Any suggestions?

Hitachi 14321 alternator from mid 198s S21 Nissan pickup has the same wiring and is much smaller. L=terminal 1 S = terminal 2 Jim

Why dont you take it to a starter shop and let them figure it out? I just had a starter for a WD-45 fitted with 12 volt fields, and Im sure you can too. I realize youre talking about generators but the idea is the same. Delco is the easiest to find parts for. Guy at the repair shop probably knows what you need without any numbers.
