I found this old girl on CL, and she's in pretty rough shape. It will be my first full restoration and I'm looking forward to the weather here in Virginia to turn dry enough for me to get started. HA!

The engine doesn't spin freely currently, so I'm already planning on a full rebuild.

I am curious for your opinions though, should I split the tractor down and have her fully hot-tanked to get the 80 years of paint and rust off engine, transmission, rear-end, and axles before I dig into the rebuild, or should I just rebuild her, and scrape/purple paint remove all the previous paint?

There was a 12 volt conversion done on this tractor, though the way it was done looks not great, to say the least. I'm considering reverting her back to the original 6v configuration but have read multiple times on these forums that this is unnecessary. Given the state she's in though, I'm going to be re-wiring her even if I stick with a 12v system. Advice?

Any general suggestions or advice would also be welcomed, like I said this is my first full rebuild of a 9n.
