Just ordered rear engine seal # RE44574 from mother Deere and it was packaged in Mexico. Seal does not have # stamped or print part info and looks like crap. The
inside sealing is very thin and looks like hard plastic. Not much for sealing but does have inner ring to mount on crank. Does any one have better part # seal
one could use on this unit?

I'm GUESSING you haven't worked with modern rear main seals?

Typically, they are a sort of teflon and "hard" as you describe.

Those are the GOOD ones, NO worries required.
