So I couldn't really find anything in any of my manuals, but I'm wondering about a couple things. The first is a pipe fitting in the fan shaft, right behind the fan. I'm thinking I replace it with a grease zerk and grease it every so often. Am I correct? The second is a 'plug' looking thing on my water pump. What is it and do I need to check it or put any lube in it? I haven't tried to unscrew it yet, as I wanted to ask first. Thanks for all inputs. Uncle Carl

The fan shaft could use a pump once in a while. DON'T touch the water pump plug, it is for a bypass pipe on later tractors, It is sealed with an oring, and I'm sure the plug is rusted in for good by now.

Yeppers, I agree. In fact I just 'lubed ' my '53 60 a few days ago.

Thanks Bob. Appreciate the confirmation. I may keep your name handy for future questions on my 60.
